Maximum 3 hour workshop Friday 18th April 2025 at The Woodford Valley Village Hall, Salisbury, Wiltshire SP4, 10am - 12.45pm.

Come along to one of The Pink Pheasant’s creative workshops where you will learn to make your own fabric lined, lampshade to take home and admire!

This is a lovely, creative way to spend a morning - let your friends know and why not come along with friends or family, or on your own, and enjoy creating your own fabulous lampshades with me!

In this workshop I will show and guide you to prepare your materials and then make a gorgeous 25cm diameter or a 30cm diameter, lined, straight sided drum lampshade for you to use on either a lamp base or as a ceiling pendant - you can choose on the day which size you would like to make.

Please note that a 30cm diameter is the maximum size available to make at this workshop event, but guidance will be given too on how you can use your lampshade making skills after the workshop to make your own different diameter lampshades. You will create on the day your own bespoke lampshade template, rather than working with a pre cut template or kit, and therefore you will have some flexibility also with the height of your lined lampshade that you will be making.

On the Day:

1. You will need to bring two pieces of fabric* (each piece of material needs be at least 1m in width and around 30cm in length, or longer - you will be able to cut it down to size at the workshop).

2. I will supply all of the other materials needed to make your lined lampshade, along with my ‘how to’ guide and a little goody bag for you to take away.

3. There will also be tea/coffee and delicious cake for us all to enjoy during the event!

4. Scissors and other tools will be supplied at the event, however, if you have your own fabric scissors (or a good pair of sharp scissors for fabric cutting) please do bring them along.

* I will also have a limited selection of some fabric pieces, available to purchase on the day if you wish to make your lampshade with some of this fabric rather than bring some fabric with you (cost for purchase of small pieces of fabric from my supplies will be approx £5-8 each). These will be small pieces of fabric (big enough for your lampshade, but saving you from purchasing pieces larger than you need). You could also recycle some existing fabric that you have to make your lampshade - such as some fabric from old curtains, blinds, duvet cover or left over fabric from another project.
